A PAIR OF NEOCLASSICAL ORMOLU & FROSTED GLASS LANTERNS
REF: FA1501
A pair of Neoclassical lanterns, masterfully cast ormolu with frosted glass bowls. Each lantern features rams' heads with finely detailed horns and fur, supporting graceful swags of drapery that encircle the body. The open-work frieze is decorated with a classical guilloche motif, while the lower section terminates in an acanthus-cast finial.
The frosted glass diffuses light beautifully, providing a soft and elegant glow that enhances the richness of the ormolu finish. Suspended by three decorative chains joined to a rosette ceiling mount, these lanterns embody the refined craftsmanship and symmetrical balance characteristic of late 19th-century French Neoclassical revival design.
